چکیده

Abstract Litsea umbellata (Lour.) Merr. is a plant commonly grown in Vietnam and some Asian countries. The used traditional medicines exhibits significant biological activities. However, the sesquiterpenes’ extraction essential oil (EO) of L. harvested from northern region has been limitedly known. Therefore, present study, leaves stem EOs were obtained by hydrodistillation method, then determined for phytochemical profile using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry system, investigated cytotoxicity activities against five cancer cell lines. Results have identified total 21 26 compounds stem, respectively, with main sesquiterpene being β-caryophyllene (16.87–11.04%), (+)-spathulenol (9.74–6.57%), oxide (26.12–18.34%), (−)-spatulenol (11.08–8.8%). exhibit anti-cancer activity IC 50 values ranging 29.58 to 62.96 µg/ml. Otherwise, also exhibited good inhibition DPPH free radical three bacteria strains. chemical constituents EO stems reported first time provided future applications this plant.
